It's important for anyone settling down in a new country to have access to good information. This collection of resources can help out with everything from US Embassy services to Danish news in English.

Living in Denmark
Moving to a foreign country is an exciting, often life-changing experience. But even for the most adventurous of souls, adjusting to life in a new country can be a challenge. The USWCF has seen hundreds of members get into the swing of living in Denmark over the years, and we've collect a few pieces of advice for newcomers.

Good Advice
1. Get to know Denmark. Enjoy the culture and café life in Odense. Get to know other Danish cities and towns – not least Copenhagen and then some of the charming smaller towns on Fyn. Spend some time by the sea and in the countryside – on bike, if at all possible! And remember you're in Europe, where half a day’s drive will take you to another fascinating culture.

2. Work hard to make friends. Don't wait for friendship to come knocking at your door. Danes are friendly, but they're reserved and tend to socialize at home and in more formal settings like dinner parties and various clubs (foreninger). Introduce yourself! Talk to people! Join a club! Learn the language! You'll be glad you did.

3. Celebrate who you are. Get to know others from home – through the USWCF, for example! Most expats are very eager to make friends, share experiences, and network. If you have kids, talk to the USWCF about our American holiday celebrations and children’s playgroup. And don't forget you're part of a community in Denmark, too – and there are plenty of opportunities for you to use your talents and skills to make a difference!

We're here for you!
We hope you'll see the USWCF as a great way to get started living in Denmark – and as a valuable resource no matter how long you stay.
